An early experimental work considering how a fleeting duration can be represented, stored and revisited.

Capturing Time proposes that time should be quantified and visualised as clearly as money. The project creates “one second of water”—a physical unit captured, stored, compressed, measured or spent through different materials and photographic actions.

Process and approach
01
Production
Wooden sticks, plates and sponge were used to absorb and contain water released over one second. The resulting objects make a duration tangible and form the basis of works titled Time in Wallet, Tower of Time, Compression of Time, Burning Time and Measuring Time.

Show Time exhibition proposal
The exhibition was designed for Hysan Place and Lee Theatre in Causeway Bay. A shopping centre connects time and money directly: visitors spend both while moving through the space. Installing the photographs in its busy central lobby would place the project inside that everyday exchange.
