MindScape combines artificial intelligence, personal photographs and Microsoft Kinect tracking to produce an interactive three-dimensional visual space. Instead of viewing memory as a fixed image, visitors move through and influence a field built from transformed photographic data.

Process and approach
01
Image intelligence
A convolutional neural network analyses the source photographs and reduces their image embeddings into coordinates suitable for a spatial composition. The resulting dataset becomes the structure of the visual environment, connecting machine interpretation with the emotional associations of the original images.
02
Body-based interaction
The work is built in Processing with KinectPV2, PeasyCam and ControlP5. A Kinect sensor reads the visitor’s body movement and allows them to navigate the particle-based 3D space. Interaction therefore happens through physical presence rather than a conventional mouse or touchscreen.
03
Technical archive
The surviving project record includes the Processing particle-cloud system, reduced image embeddings and data-conversion tools. Together they document how the photographic archive was translated from image files into a responsive spatial experience.
